ALVERA AirGuard™ Filter Cover Compatible with AirSense 10 Devices
Alvera AirGuard Filter Cover for AirSense 10 Machines, Single or Twin Pack
The filter cover is the small clip-on panel that holds the air filter against the inlet on the side of the machine. It is easy to dismiss as trim, and it is not. Without it the filter is not held flat against the inlet, so air takes the path of least resistance around the edge of the filter rather than through it. The machine then draws unfiltered room air straight into the blower and down the hose. The cover is also the part most often lost, because it comes off every time the filter is changed, it is small enough to slide behind a bedside table, and it travels loose in a bag. Never run the machine without the cover fitted
- The cover holds the filter flat against the inlet. Without it, air bypasses the filter around its edge and unfiltered room air reaches the blower and the airway.
- Refit the cover fully after every filter change and confirm it clicks home. A cover that is only half seated leaves the same bypass gap.
- Do not run the machine with the filter recess open, and do not substitute tape or any improvised cover.
- Keep the inlet clear. A cover cannot work if the machine is pushed against a wall, under bedding or behind a curtain.
Why the cover is worth keeping in stock
Filter covers go missing at a rate out of all proportion to their importance. The cover comes off at every filter change, which is monthly at most intervals, and it is a small light piece of plastic that is easy to put down and lose. It also travels badly: packed loose in an overnight bag it can be left behind in a hotel room or crushed against something heavier.
The consequence is that a machine ends up running with an open filter recess for weeks, which quietly undoes the whole point of filtration and leaves dust and pet dander accumulating inside a blower nobody can clean. Buying a spare cover costs very little against a machine that has ingested months of unfiltered air, and it means a lost cover is a nuisance for one evening rather than a problem for a month.
The twin pack suits a household with two machines, or anyone who travels with theirs and wants one permanently in the bag.
Key features
Check the machine before ordering
This cover fits AirSense 10 machines. It does not fit AirSense 11 or AirMini machines, which use different filter arrangements, and it should not be forced onto a machine it was not shaped for. The machine model is printed on the underside of the device. Where the model is not certain, ask before ordering.

Care and renewal
| Action | Detail | Interval |
|---|---|---|
| Refit after a filter change | Seat the cover fully and confirm it clicks home before the machine is used | Every filter change |
| Wipe | Wipe with a damp cloth alongside the machine housing, machine disconnected from the mains | Weekly |
| Inspect | Check the clips and the body for cracks, and confirm the cover still holds firmly | Monthly |
| Check the inlet | Confirm the air inlet is clear and the machine is not pushed against a wall or covered | Weekly |
| Renew | Fit a fresh cover when a clip breaks, the body cracks or the cover no longer holds the filter flat | As required |
The above is general guidance for a single user. The instructions supplied with the machine take precedence.
Alvera range
Alvera is the own-brand accessory range from Elarix Medical, covering the consumables that sleep therapy depends on and that need renewing on a schedule. AirGuard covers filter covers, alongside PureFlow machine filters, PureGuard in-line bacteria filters, AirLink connectors and adapters, AirStrap headgear and clips, ThermaAir heated tubing, AirFlex tubing, AquaPure water chambers, AirSoft cushions and PureWipe cleaning wipes. Products are individually referenced and barcoded, so a repeat order is placed against a code rather than a description.
