ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet CPAP Bundle, Pre-Owned Machine with New Accessories

The ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet is an auto-adjusting CPAP device. It measures the airway breath by breath and moves the pressure within the range set by the prescribing clinician, rather than holding one fixed figure, and adds SmartStart, AutoRamp and Expiratory Pressure Relief to make the first hour with a mask tolerable.

This bundle pairs a pre-owned machine with new consumables, so it arrives ready to use rather than needing a separate order for the parts that touch the wearer. The machine, power supply and carry bag are used. The mask, heated tube, water chamber, filters and cleaning items are new.

Checked before dispatch

  • Powered on and run, with pressure delivery, blower and humidifier heating observed.
  • Recorded hours read from the device and noted against the unit before it is packed.
  • Display, menu navigation and comfort settings checked.
  • Air path, inlet and outlet inspected, and the exterior cleaned and disinfected.
  • A new water chamber, new tubing and a fresh filter are supplied, so nothing in the humidified air path passes from a previous wearer.

These are in-house workshop checks. Damaged or non-working items are not dispatched. A full engineer service and calibration is not included unless this listing states the unit has been serviced. Setting the prescribed pressure range remains with the wearer and the clinical service looking after them.

The pressure range is set by the prescribing clinical service

  • The minimum and maximum pressures follow a sleep study or clinical assessment and are entered by the responsible clinical service.
  • Settings are never carried over from a previous wearer. Any range held in the device from earlier use is confirmed or changed before therapy begins.
  • Mask type and size are matched to the wearer. A mask chosen at checkout without a fitting is a starting point, not a fitted interface, and a poorly fitting mask is the most common reason therapy is abandoned.

What the hours mean on a used CPAP device

The AirSense 10 platform is built around a blower rated for years of nightly use, and the figure that tells a buyer where a machine sits in that life is its recorded hours. This one falls between 5,000 and 10,000, which is roughly two to three and a half years of typical nightly therapy. That is a machine with real service behind it and a good deal ahead of it, and the price should reflect both halves of that sentence. A unit at the lower end of the band has done noticeably less work than one at the top, so the hours on the specific machine are read from the device before it is packed.

What matters more than hours on a used device is what has been done about the parts that carry humidified air. Blower wear is gradual and predictable. Hygiene is not. In this bundle the water chamber, the tubing and the filter are all new, which means every surface between the humidifier and the mask is fresh, and the mask itself is new rather than reissued. That is the difference between a used machine and a used therapy system, and it is the part a buyer should check on any second-hand CPAP listing.

Two limits are worth stating. Auto-adjustment is not a substitute for a prescription: the range still comes from a clinician, and a device left on a wide default range is not the same as one set to the range someone was titrated for. And the AirSense 10 is a previous generation platform, superseded by the AirSense 11, so accessory availability is good today and will narrow over time. For a buyer who wants proven equipment at a lower price that is a fair trade, and it should be a decision rather than a surprise.

Mask fit check with leak alert, run before sleep to confirm the seal, and flagging significant leak during the night so it is corrected rather than tolerated.
LCD display with ambient light sensor, dimming to the room so the screen does not light the bedroom when the device is checked at night.
Integrated humidifier bay with ClimateLineAir support, holding temperature and humidity at the mask through the heated tube supplied, which is what prevents condensation forming in a cold bedroom.
SD card and AirView data, giving the clinical service a route to therapy data by card or, where the region supports it, by wireless upload.

Specification limited to what is confirmed

  • The exact recorded hours on this individual unit, together with its serial number, manufacture date and software version, are read from the device and given on request.
  • The power supply is supplied as either the 65 W or the 90 W ResMed unit. The rating on the unit dispatched is confirmed before it is packed, since the humidifier draws more than the smaller supply is intended for.
  • The regional variant of the device determines whether wireless upload is active. Confirmation for this unit is available on request.
  • Mask model and size are selected at checkout. Where a fitting has not been done, the mask is chosen with the clinical service rather than by measurement at home.

Condition and history

Pre-owned, previously in home use, with cosmetic marks consistent with that use. Photographs form part of the description and show the actual unit offered.
New in the air path. Water chamber, heated tube, filter and mask are all new, so no part carrying humidified air to the wearer has been used before.
No service history is supplied, and the therapy settings held in the device are confirmed or changed by the clinical service before use.
