ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet CPAP Machine with Integrated Humidifier, Pre-Owned
The ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet is an auto-adjusting CPAP device for the prescribed treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea. It measures the airway breath by breath and moves the pressure inside the range set by the prescribing clinician, rather than holding one fixed figure all night, and pairs that with an integrated HumidAir 11 humidifier and a colour touchscreen.
This unit is pre-owned. Recorded hours differ from unit to unit across the stock held, so the hours on the machine being sent are read from the device and confirmed before dispatch, and stated on request beforehand. It is supplied with its HumidAir 11 humidifier, travel bag and 65 W power supply, together with a new water chamber and a new standard air tube. A mask, heated tubing, filters and cleaning products are bought separately.

Checked before dispatch
- Powered on and run, with pressure delivery, blower and humidifier heating observed.
- Recorded hours read from the device and noted against the unit before it is packed.
- Touchscreen, menu navigation and comfort settings checked.
- Air path, inlet and outlet inspected, and the exterior cleaned and disinfected.
- A new water chamber and a new air tube are supplied, so nothing in the humidified air path passes from a previous wearer.
These are in-house workshop checks. Damaged or non-working items are not dispatched. A full engineer service and calibration is not included unless this listing states the unit has been serviced. Fitting a fresh filter and mask, and setting the prescribed pressure range, remain with the wearer and the clinical service looking after them.
The pressure range is set by the prescribing clinical service
- The minimum and maximum pressures follow a sleep study or clinical assessment and are entered by the responsible clinical service.
- Settings are never carried over from a previous wearer. Any range held in the device from earlier use is confirmed or changed before therapy begins.
- A fresh air filter and a mask are fitted before first use.
What auto-adjusting therapy actually changes
The pressure a person needs is not one number. It rises when they roll onto their back, when they enter REM sleep, after alcohol, and during a cold, and it falls again in between. A fixed pressure device has to be set high enough to cover the worst part of the night, which means the rest of the night is spent at more pressure than the airway requires. The AutoSet algorithm measures flow limitation, snore and apnoea breath by breath and moves the pressure inside the prescribed range, so the wearer meets the pressure the airway needs at that moment. In practice that tends to lower the average pressure across the night, and average pressure is closely tied to mask leak, aerophagia and whether somebody keeps using the machine at all.
The device also carries AutoRamp, which starts low and waits until it detects sleep before building to therapy level, and Expiratory Pressure Relief, which eases the pressure back as the wearer breathes out. Both address the same underlying problem: the first hour with a mask is when most people decide whether they will persist, and it is the hour when full therapy pressure feels least tolerable. Integrated humidification sits alongside them, since dry nasal passages and a dry mouth are the other common early reason for abandoning therapy.
Two limits are worth stating before purchase. Auto-adjustment is not a substitute for a prescription: the range still comes from a clinician, and a device set to a wide default range is not the same as one set to the range someone was titrated for. And this is the wrong device for two groups, those prescribed a single fixed pressure, who gain nothing over the Elite model at lower cost, and anyone who needs separate inspiratory and expiratory pressures, which is bi-level territory rather than CPAP. The unit runs from mains power with no internal battery, so it travels in its bag rather than running unplugged.
Key features
AutoSet auto-adjusting algorithm, responding to flow limitation, snore and apnoea within the prescribed range, so pressure rises only for the part of the night that needs it rather than sitting at the peak all night.
AutoSet for Her response, where enabled on the device, applying a pressure response shaped around breathing patterns more often seen in women, including a stronger emphasis on flow limitation.
Expiratory Pressure Relief, dropping the pressure as the wearer breathes out, which removes the sensation of exhaling against full therapy pressure.
AutoRamp, starting at a low pressure and detecting sleep onset before building to the prescribed level, so the wearer falls asleep against gentle pressure.
Integrated HumidAir 11 humidifier, heating and moistening the air inside the device rather than through a separate unit, which keeps one box and one lead at the bedside and addresses nasal and mouth dryness.
Compatible with ClimateLineAir 11 heated tubing, which holds a set temperature and humidity at the mask through Climate Control and is what prevents condensation forming in a cold bedroom. The heated tube is bought separately.
Colour touchscreen, giving direct access to comfort settings and the sleep report without stepping through a menu wheel, so a nightly check takes seconds.
myAir app support for UK and EU users, sending a nightly summary, sleep score and coaching prompts to a phone, which turns adherence from a guess into something visible.
Travel bag supplied, holding the device, humidifier and tubing together so the unit moves between rooms or trips without repacking loose parts.

Condition and history
Pre-owned, previously in home use, with cosmetic marks consistent with that use. The photographs form part of the description. Recorded hours are read from each unit before dispatch rather than quoted as a single figure across the stock.
New water chamber and new air tube supplied, so every part carrying humidified air to the mask is fresh. The filter and mask are fitted by the incoming wearer.
No service history is supplied, and the therapy settings held in the device are confirmed or changed by the clinical service before use.

Customs and duties
