If you are looking for a specific device not listed on our website, contact our clinical procurement team as we may be able to source it.

Yes. Selfimed UK supplies NHS Trusts, foundation trusts, independent hospitals, private clinics, care homes and community healthcare providers. We can process orders by purchase order and provide VAT invoices, delivery notes and all necessary documentation for your procurement records.

For larger orders or framework supply arrangements, please contact our clinical procurement team directly. We can provide UKCA/CE declarations of conformity, IFUs, technical datasheets and service documentation for any device we supply.

We are able to arrange next-day delivery for many items held in UK stock. Lead times for specialist, imported or made-to-order equipment will be confirmed at the point of order.

Yes. All medical devices we supply comply with the UK Medical Devices Regulations 2002 (as amended) and carry UKCA marking, CE marking, or both as applicable. We only source devices from manufacturers registered with the MHRA or relevant notified bodies.

Declarations of conformity, technical files and instructions for use (IFUs) are available on request for all devices we supply. If you require specific regulatory documentation for procurement, audit or clinical governance purposes, contact our team and we will provide the relevant paperwork.

We do not supply counterfeit, grey-market or unregistered medical devices under any circumstances.

For certain product categories and institutional customers, we can arrange equipment demonstrations and clinical evaluation periods. This is particularly relevant for capital equipment such as monitors, ventilators and infusion systems where a hands-on assessment before committing to purchase is clinically appropriate.

Please contact our clinical team directly to discuss your requirements. Demonstration and evaluation arrangements are subject to product availability and manufacturer policies.

Medical devices in the UK are classified by risk level under the UK Medical Devices Regulations 2002:

Class I devices carry the lowest risk. Examples include examination gloves, bandages and basic diagnostic tools. Most Class I devices are self-certified by the manufacturer.

Class IIa devices carry a medium-low risk. Examples include short-term surgical instruments, hearing aids and CPAP machines. These require involvement of a notified body.

Class IIb devices carry a medium-high risk. Examples include infusion pumps, ventilators and intensive care monitors. These require more rigorous notified body assessment.

Class III devices carry the highest risk and are typically implantable or life-sustaining. Examples include pacemakers, coronary stents and neurostimulators. These require the most stringent regulatory scrutiny.

The device class is indicated on the product's declaration of conformity. If you need to confirm the classification of a specific device for procurement or clinical governance purposes, contact our team.

Yes. We stock consumables, disposables and accessories for many of the devices we supply, including infusion sets, electrode pads, SpO2 sensors, ECG leads, suction catheters and breathing circuits. Maintaining a supply of compatible consumables from a single trusted source simplifies procurement and ensures compatibility.

For equipment not listed on our website, we can often source compatible consumables on request. Contact our team with the device model and the consumable or accessory you require and we will confirm availability and lead time.

For certain product categories, we can arrange planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and calibration services through manufacturer-authorised service partners. This is particularly relevant for capital equipment subject to ongoing clinical governance requirements such as infusion pumps, defibrillators and patient monitors.

All medical devices used in clinical settings should be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's service schedule and the MHRA's Device Bulletin DB2006(05) guidance on managing medical devices. Records of servicing, calibration and safety checks should be maintained as part of your organisation's medical device management framework.

Contact our team to discuss service and maintenance options for specific devices.

Some advanced clinical devices are appropriate for home use under clinical supervision, such as home infusion pumps, portable suction devices, home monitoring equipment and certain diagnostic tools. These may be purchased by individuals, carers or community nursing teams for use outside a hospital setting.

We strongly recommend that any advanced clinical device is only used by individuals who have received appropriate training from a qualified clinician, and that its use is overseen by a prescribing or supervising healthcare professional. Incorrect use of clinical devices can cause serious patient harm.

If you are purchasing on behalf of a patient for home use, please ensure clinical supervision is in place and contact our team if you need guidance on the appropriate device for the intended clinical application.

Individual patients with a qualifying chronic illness or disability purchasing eligible medical devices for personal or domestic use may claim VAT Relief under Group 12 of Schedule 8 of the Value Added Tax Act 1994. Tick the declaration at checkout to apply the 20% reduction.

NHS Trusts and certain other public bodies may be eligible for VAT relief or zero-rating under separate provisions. Registered charities purchasing equipment for charitable purposes may also qualify for zero-rating in certain circumstances.

For institutional purchases, please contact our team before placing your order to confirm the applicable VAT treatment. We can provide a VAT-inclusive or VAT-exclusive quotation as required for your procurement process.
