ResMed Standard CPAP Tubing, 1.83 m, 19 mm, Clear Grey
£15.99
This item
ResMed standard tubing is the universal 19 mm non-heated hose used across CPAP therapy. At 1.83 m it is the standard length, long enough to reach a bedside table without leaving slack that catches under a shoulder. Cuffed ends at both ends fit the machine outlet at one end and the mask elbow at the other, and because the 19 mm cuff is the common standard across the industry, the same hose works on ResMed machines and on machines from other manufacturers. It is the simplest and cheapest component in a therapy setup, and it is also the one most often left in service well past the point where it should have been renewed.

Fits most machines, but not AirMini
This tube fits ResMed CPAP therapy machines and can also be used with machines from other manufacturers that take the standard 19 mm cuff. It does not fit AirMini travel machines, which use a narrower proprietary hose supplied only as part of a mask-specific setup kit. It is also not a substitute for a heated tube on a machine running climate control, since a standard hose carries no heating element and no electrical connection.
There are three tubing types in common use and they are not interchangeable in effect, only in fitting.
Standard 19 mm, as here, is the original and the most widely compatible. The wider bore means lower resistance and less noise transmitted along the hose, and there is nothing in it to fail electrically. It is the sensible default for anyone not running humidification hard, and it is the tube to keep as a spare regardless of what is normally used, because it will fit almost any machine in a pinch.
Slimline 15 mm is narrower and lighter, which reduces the pull on the mask when the wearer turns over. The trade is a slightly higher resistance and a more noticeable rustle against bedding.
Heated tubing holds the air above its dew point along the length of the hose and prevents rainout, but it only works on a machine that supports it and it costs several times more.
A standard tube is also the correct choice when a heated tube fails and therapy needs to continue that night. Every household running heated tubing should have one of these in the drawer.

Safe use
| Action | Detail | Interval |
|---|---|---|
| Wash | Wash in warm water with a mild detergent, working the water through the full length | Weekly |
| Rinse and dry | Rinse thoroughly and hang to dry away from direct sunlight, which degrades the material | Weekly |
| Inspect | Check the full length for splits, holes, permanent kinks and clouding, and check both cuffs still grip | Weekly |
| Position | Route the tube so it is not trapped, pinched or run under bedding overnight | Each night |
| Renew | Fit a fresh tube at the interval set by the service responsible for care, or sooner if damage or persistent cloudiness appears | Typically every three to six months |
The above is general guidance for a single user. The instructions supplied with the machine and with the tube take precedence. Do not use a dishwasher, washing machine, bleach, alcohol-based cleaners or scented oils on CPAP tubing.
