Anetic Aid QA4 Electric Transfer Trolley with remote Control

The Anetic Aid QA4 is a mobile surgery system rather than a transfer trolley in the ordinary sense. It is designed so a patient is admitted, anaesthetised, operated on, recovered and discharged on the same platform, which removes every transfer between trolley, table and bed that a day surgery pathway would otherwise involve. Each of those transfers is a manual handling task, a delay and an opportunity for injury to patient and staff, so removing them is the whole argument for the product.
Powered functions are driven from a hand control: variable height, Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg, lateral tilt, backrest and head section. The top traverses at both ends, which gives full C-arm coverage without repositioning the patient, and the trolley drops to an exceptionally low height for safe patient mounting and dismounting. Removable rotating side rails give safety during transport and recovery and clear away entirely for surgical access.
It is used across general surgery, gynaecology, orthopaedics, endoscopy, ENT, dental, ophthalmic and laparoscopic work, with a range of interchangeable head and leg sections that adapt the same trolley to different specialties. Centrally braked castors and low rolling resistance tyres make a loaded trolley manageable by one person on level ground.
This unit is pre-owned. Specification varies across QA4 generations, particularly the patient weight limit and the height range, so the figures on this individual trolley are read from its own label and its manual rather than assumed from a catalogue.

Confirm the weight limits from the trolley itself.ย Anetic Aid has produced the QA4 in more than one specification. Current powered instructions for use state a maximum patient weight of 250 kg with a safe working load of 300 kg, while an earlier manual for the same family states 160 kg maximum patient weight with a safe working load of 200 kg. Those are materially different limits. The figures printed on this individual trolley's label govern its use, and the safe working load is the sum of the patient, every accessory fitted and everything carried on those accessories. Do not work to a catalogue figure. Removable head sections take a maximum of 25 kg and the removable leg section a maximum of 50 kg, and the maximum load per IV hook is 3 kg with a safe working load of 6 kg for the IV pole.
Inspection, testing and statutory duties.ย No service history, load test or electrical safety certificate accompanies this trolley. Electrical safety testing and a full functional check through every powered movement are carried out on receipt. Where equipment used at work raises or lowers a person, the duty to have it thoroughly examined by a competent person applies, and the receiving organisation should confirm with its own competent person how LOLER 1998 and PUWER 1998 apply to this trolley in its intended use, and at what interval. Planned maintenance, battery condition monitoring and periodic testing then sit with that organisation.
Use limitations from the manufacturer.ย The trolley is not used to transport patients in a moving vehicle. It has very low ground clearance beneath the central column, so uneven ground and inclines can cause problems, and it is not used outside where rough ground may damage it. Lower the trolley to its minimum height whenever a patient is left on it, to minimise injury should they fall. Patients mount at the centre of the platform with weight distributed as evenly as possible. Dilute all disinfectants to the manufacturer's guidelines before cleaning.
