Philips Respironics DreamWisp Frame Faceplate, Genuine Spare Part
The DreamWisp faceplate is the soft silicone body of the mask. Air enters at the elbow on the crown of the head and travels through the hollow frame down to the cushion under the nose, so nothing crosses the bridge of the nose and the line of sight stays clear.
This is a genuine Philips Respironics spare part in one universal size, supplied on its own. It fits the DreamWisp nasal mask and no other mask, including the Wisp.

Magnets in the DreamWisp headgear: manufacturer contraindication
- DreamWisp headgear attaches with magnetic clips. Philips Respironics issued a field safety notice and updated labelling for its masks with magnetic clips, adding a contraindication.
- The mask is contraindicated where the wearer, or a household member, carer or bed partner in close proximity, has a pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter defibrillator, a neurostimulator, a programmable cerebrospinal fluid shunt, an aneurysm clip, a metallic stent, an ocular or cochlear implant, an insulin pump, magnetic metallic implants, or any implant labelled as unsafe in a magnetic field.
- Where nobody in that group is affected, the mask may be used following the manufacturer's updated instructions, keeping it at least 15 cm from any implant or device that magnetic fields could affect. The magnets are active whether or not the mask is being worn, including while it rests on a bedside table.
- Anyone unsure whether an implant is affected should speak to the clinical service before using the mask, and the current DreamWisp instructions for use should be read in full.
How the faceplate works and why it is renewed
Most masks separate structure from air path: a rigid frame holds the mask on, a tube feeds it. DreamWisp merges the two. The faceplate is soft silicone and hollow, so it holds the mask against the face while carrying the therapy air, which is what moves the hose connection to the crown of the head and leaves the face clear. Because the air travels down both sides, compressing one side against a pillow simply redirects flow through the other, which is the design feature that makes the mask work for side and front sleepers.
The consequence is that the faceplate is part of the air path rather than a chassis. A split, a crack or a perforation anywhere in it is a leak in the circuit, not a cosmetic defect, and it will show up as lost pressure and a mask that no longer seals. Silicone in nightly contact with skin oils also gradually loses its grip and its spring, and the usual response, tightening the headgear, presses the cushion harder into the face and tends to make leak and skin marking worse rather than better. Renewing the faceplate is the correct answer at that point and is considerably cheaper than a complete mask.
Two limits are worth stating. The faceplate fits the DreamWisp nasal mask only. It is not interchangeable with the Wisp, which is a different mask despite the similar name, and not with DreamWear, which uses its own sized frames. And it is one component of several: a working mask also needs the cushion, frame connector, elbow and headgear, none of which are supplied here.

Genuine Philips Respironics part, holding the tolerances the cushion seal and vent flow were designed around, which a copied part cannot be relied on to do.

- Whether the faceplate supplied carries a magnet, a ferrous receiving plate or neither depends on the revision, and is confirmed on request. The contraindication above applies to the DreamWisp mask system as a whole.
Cleaning
By hand, weekly. Submerge fully in warm water with a mild detergent, allowing water to fill the hollow interior. Wipe the outside with a soft cloth, rinse thoroughly, then shake the interior clear and air dry away from direct sunlight. The inside must be completely dry before the mask is used again.
In a dishwasher, once a week at most. Top rack only. More frequent dishwasher cleaning shortens the life of the silicone.
Never use bleach, alcohol, antibacterial sprays, all-purpose cleaners or household cleaning products. Residues left inside a hollow frame sit in the air path and are then breathed for hours. Products intended for CPAP equipment, or mild detergent and water, are the only appropriate options.

For hygiene reasons, opened CPAP masks, CPAP parts and CPAP accessories, including tubing, filters and humidifier chambers, cannot be returned.

Refund
