Mindray VS-900 Vital Signs Patient Monitor with accessories on Rollstand
£249.99
This item
The Mindray VS-900 is a vital signs monitor built for the places where patients come and go rather than stay: triage, outpatients, day surgery recovery, pre-assessment and the ward round. Non invasive blood pressure, pulse oximetry, temperature and pulse rate on an 8.4 inch colour screen, on a rollstand so the whole thing follows the clinician down the bay instead of being carried.
Blood pressure is where this monitor earns its place. Alongside manual and automatic cycling it offers STAT and a programmable mode, so a nurse can set an interval pattern for the patient in front of them rather than accept a fixed cycle. The adult range runs from 25 to 290 mmHg systolic, paediatric and neonatal modes narrow the range and shorten the maximum measurement time to 90 seconds on a neonate, and the cuff is driven by an oscillometric pump with a mean error held inside 5 mmHg.
Where the VS-900 differs from a simple spot check device is the record and the route out of it. It holds 5000 groups of trend data, outputs in HL7, and connects by wireless or wired network through Mindray eGateway and VitalsLinks into an electronic record. A barcode scanner option reads patient wristbands including 2D and RFID, and an integral thermal recorder prints at the bedside. Taken together that is what turns a set of numbers into an observation chart entry without a clipboard in between.
The monitor is built to order rather than in one fixed form. Pulse oximetry comes as Mindray, Masimo or Nellcor. Temperature comes as the Mindray SmarTemp predictive probe, the Genius 2 tympanic thermometer or an infrared unit. Carbon dioxide is an option, as are the touchscreen, the printer and the barcode scanner. The configuration of this particular unit is confirmed in writing before dispatch rather than assumed from the model name, because two VS-900 monitors side by side can be specified very differently.
