Philips Respironics Wisp Nasal CPAP Mask Fit Pack with Fabric Frame and Headgear, New
The Wisp is Philips Respironics' minimal contact nasal mask, supplied here as a fit pack with the fabric frame, headgear and three cushion sizes. The cushion sits under the nose rather than over it, the tube routes up over the head through a crown loop on the headgear, and almost nothing sits in the field of view.
Minimal contact is the whole design argument. A conventional nasal mask covers the bridge of the nose, which is where most seal problems and most pressure sores begin, and it puts a triangle of plastic directly in front of the eyes. The Wisp removes both: the cushion is small, nothing crosses the nasal bridge, and a wearer can read, watch television or wear glasses with the mask on. For anyone who has given up on therapy because of a sore nose or because they felt shut in, that is the change worth trying.
Two frames are made for this mask and this pack carries the fabric one. The fabric frame sits softer and warmer against the cheeks than the clear silicone version and is the usual choice for a wearer who finds silicone cold or who marks easily. The clear frame is the alternative where visibility or ease of cleaning matters more. The frames are interchangeable, so a wearer who starts with one can change later without buying a whole mask.
A fit pack is bought to settle the fit at home rather than through a sequence of orders. Three cushion sizes are supplied in the box so the wearer can try each against their own face, which matters more on a nasal cushion than on a full face mask, because the seal depends on a small contact area and a size out either way leaks. One headgear is supplied in the original size, with a larger size available separately. Supplied new.

Points to note before ordering
- This mask has magnets in its headgear clips, and that rules it out for some households. Philips Respironics issued a field safety notice covering the Wisp and several other masks because the magnets can disturb or move implanted devices. The mask is contraindicated where the wearer, or a household member, carer or bed partner in close contact, has a pacemaker, an implantable defibrillator, a neurostimulator, a cerebrospinal fluid shunt, an aneurysm clip, a cochlear implant, a metallic stent or an insulin pump. Where any of those are present, a mask without magnets is the one to order and Elarix Medical quotes alternatives on request.
- Where no contraindicated implant is present, keep the mask 150 mm clear of other implants. Philips specify a separation of at least 150 mm from any other medical implant or device that a magnetic field could affect. That distance applies to the mask wherever it is, including on a bedside table, not only while it is being worn.
- Confirm the fit before committing to a size. Three cushion sizes are supplied so the wearer can try each. A nasal cushion seals on a small contact area, so a size out in either direction leaks, and the size that looks right rarely is. Elarix Medical confirms in writing which three sizes are in this pack.
- One headgear, one size. The pack carries the original size headgear. A larger size is a separate item and is the one to order where a collar size runs to 17 inches or more.
- Cushions are the wear part. Silicone softens and loses its seal with use and with cleaning, so cushions are ordered again periodically while the frame and headgear last considerably longer. The instructions for use supplied with the mask govern cleaning and service life.

Shipping

Returns and refunds
- UK orders: 30-day change of mind. Tell us within 30 days of delivery at info@selfimed.com or on 0330 133 2808 and we send you a returns reference. Return postage is paid by you.
- Opened new items can no longer be sold as new. A deduction of up to 40% may apply if the item has been used or handled beyond inspection; from day 15 to day 30 a 40% restocking fee applies.
- Hygiene items supplied sealed (masks, cushions, nasal pillows, tubing, filters and anything that touches the airway) cannot be returned once opened, even if unused.
- Faulty or not as described? Tell us within 30 days for a full refund, and we pay the return postage. After that, it is repaired or replaced under the warranty.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method within 14 days of the item reaching us.
