About the CPAP nasal comfort pad

The bridge of the nose is where many masks press hardest, because the cushion seals over it and the headgear pulls the mask towards it. A nasal comfort pad places a cushioning layer at that point, under the mask, without any change to the mask or its headgear.

It is a small, inexpensive item to try if you notice pressure at the bridge of your nose. Because a CPAP nasal comfort pad works with the mask you already have, there is nothing else to change. The pads come ten to a pack with one product code, so the same pack arrives each time you reorder.

Where it sits and what to check

The pad is placed on the bridge of the nose before the mask is put on, so the cushion rests over it. Because it sits under the seal, the mask should be checked for a correct fit and seal once the pad is in place, and any vent should be left clear.

A pad does not replace a correctly sized cushion, so if pressure at the nose persists, the mask size and fitting should be reviewed with your clinic. Carers who fit the mask for someone else can watch for this and raise it at the next appointment. The product code is shown in the table below.
