React Health Luna G3 Heated CPAP Tubing, 1.8 m, Reference LG3HT, New

The LG3HT is the integrated heated breathing tube for the React Health Luna G3 series, 1.8 m long with a 19 mm bore and standard 22 mm cuffs. It plugs into the device on a proprietary connection, and once fitted a Heated Tubing option appears in the machine menu, so the tube is powered and controlled by the Luna itself rather than by anything plugged into the wall.

What a heated tube does is hold the air above its dew point along the whole run from machine to mask. An unheated hose loses heat to the bedroom, the moisture the humidifier put into the air condenses on the inside of the tube, and it arrives at the mask as water. That is rainout, and it is the single commonest reason people turn the humidifier down or off and then give up on therapy because of a dry nose and mouth. With the tube heated, humidity can be run at the level the airway actually needs instead of the level the hose will tolerate.

The 22 mm cuffs are worth noting because they are the standard CPAP mask fitting. Any 22 mm mask connects straight onto this tube without an adapter, so changing mask brand does not mean changing tube. The 19 mm bore is the slim size rather than the older 22 mm bore, which makes the hose lighter on the mask and less inclined to pull the seal off during the night.

It is supplied new. The connection is specific to the Luna G3 series, covering the CPAP, APAP and BiPAP devices in that range, and it does not fit the earlier Luna G2.

Points to note before ordering

No separate power supply is needed. This is an integrated tube. It draws power through the device connection, so there is nothing additional to plug in and no mains adapter to buy.
Luna G3 series only. The connection is specific to the Luna G3 range and does not fit the Luna G2 or any other make of CPAP device.
Tube only. No CPAP device, water chamber, mask or filter is part of this sale.
Cleaning. Disconnect from both the device and the mask, wash in warm water with a mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before refitting. No harsh chemicals or solvents, and the tube is not to be immersed with the device connector submerged.
Service life guide. A heated tube is typically changed every six to twelve months, sooner if it leaks, the cuffs slacken or the outer sheath splits. The instructions for use supplied with the device govern cleaning and service life.
