Alvera CPAP Mask Liners
£6.99
This item
A mask liner is a thin fabric layer that sits between the cushion and the face. It addresses the two problems that make most people give up on a full face mask in the first months, and they are the same problem seen from different ends. Silicone grips dry skin and slips on oily skin, so a cushion presses hard enough to leave marks on the bridge of the nose and the cheeks, and then loses its seal anyway once facial oils build up during the night. A micro-fleece liner absorbs those oils and spreads the contact pressure across fabric rather than a silicone edge, which softens the marks and holds the seal. It also stops the cold slap of silicone against the face on a winter night, which is a small thing that matters at two in the morning.

A liner changes how the mask seals
Absorbs facial oils. Skin produces oil all night. On bare silicone that oil forms a film, the cushion begins to slide, and the mask leaks in the small hours after sealing perfectly at bedtime. Fabric absorbs it instead, which is why liners hold their seal later into the night than silicone alone.
Spreads the pressure. A silicone cushion concentrates load along a thin sealing edge. That edge is what leaves a red line across the bridge of the nose. A fleece layer distributes the same force over a wider area, so the mark is softer and fades faster.
Reduces noise from leak. Most mask whistle comes from air escaping across a slipping silicone edge. Closing that gap removes the noise at source rather than masking it.
Protects the skin. Anyone with sensitive skin, rosacea, eczema or a silicone sensitivity gets a fabric barrier rather than eight hours of direct silicone contact.
Warmth in a cold room. Silicone at room temperature feels cold against the face. Fleece does not, which makes putting the mask back on after a trip out of bed considerably easier to face.
Check the mask before ordering
These liners are cut for F20 full face masks, covering AirFit F20 and AirTouch F20, which share a frame and cushion outline. They do not fit F30, F30i or F40 masks, nor nasal or pillow masks, all of which have different cushion shapes. The mask model is printed on the frame. Where the model is not certain, ask before ordering.

The above is general guidance for a single user. The instructions supplied with the mask take precedence. Do not use a washing machine, tumble dryer, bleach, fabric conditioner or scented oils on mask liners.
Alvera is the own-brand accessory range from Elarix Medical, covering the consumables that sleep therapy depends on and that need renewing on a schedule: AirSoft cushions, AirStrap headgear and clips, AirLink connectors and adapters, PureFlow machine filters, AirGuard filter covers, PureGuard in-line bacteria filters, ThermaAir heated tubing, AirFlex tubing, AquaPure water chambers and PureWipe cleaning wipes. Products are individually referenced and barcoded, so a repeat order is placed against a code rather than a description.
