Mindray BeneView T5 Modular Patient Monitor, Pre-Owned

The BeneView T5 is a modular bedside monitor from Mindray's T series, built around a 12.1 inch display with integral module racks. Parameters are delivered by plug-in modules rather than fixed inputs, so the same monitor covers a general ward bay or a theatre depending on which modules are fitted.

This unit is pre-owned and supplied with a UK power supply. Which measurement modules accompany it is confirmed against the individual monitor before dispatch, because on this platform the modules decide what the monitor can measure.

Checked before dispatch

  • Powered on from mains and the monitor observed booting to the monitoring screen.

Verify before clinical use

  • This is a measuring device. Non-invasive blood pressure, SpO2, ECG and temperature accuracy are verified against a suitable simulator before any patient is connected.
  • Electrical safety testing, including earth leakage and patient applied part leakage, is carried out on receipt as set out in the manufacturer's service documentation.
  • Alarm limits, alarm volume, patient category and unit configuration are set by the receiving organisation to its own protocols and never left as they were found.
  • No calibration certificate is supplied with this unit, and ongoing maintenance sits under PUWER 1998 with the organisation operating the equipment.

What modular actually means here, and why it matters when buying used

On a fixed monitor the parameters are built into the box: the sockets on the front are what it measures, for the life of the device. The BeneView is built the other way round. The chassis provides the display, the processing, the alarms, the trends and the network connection, and every measurement arrives through a module that slides into the rack. A multi-parameter module typically carries ECG, respiration, SpO2, blood pressure and temperature together, while separate modules add invasive pressure, cardiac output, capnography or depth of anaesthesia as a department needs them.

That design is why the platform stayed in service for so long. A ward can run a basic configuration and a theatre can add modules to the same chassis, and a module can move between monitors with the patient rather than the patient being re-cabled at each handover. It is also why the chassis alone is a common thing to find on the second-hand market: hospitals retire monitors and keep modules, or the reverse.

The practical consequence for a buyer is simple and worth stating plainly. A BeneView T5 with no module fitted powers up, displays its interface and measures nothing at all. Anyone pricing this against a fixed-parameter monitor should compare the cost of the chassis plus the modules and cables they will need, not the chassis alone. Where modules are already held, or where a spare chassis is wanted to back up an existing fleet, this is exactly the right purchase.
