Anetic Aid AT4 Electronic Tourniquet System, Dual Channel, Pre-owned

The AT4 is Anetic Aid's electronic surgical tourniquet system, product code 40080, built as a self contained mobile unit rather than a box that needs plumbing in. It runs one or two channels from 0 to 600 mmHg to an accuracy of plus or minus 2.5 mmHg, carries its own air supply and its own battery, and stands 1055 mm high on castors with hooks and storage for the cuffs and cables.

The integral air supply is the feature that changes how the unit is used. A tourniquet that draws from piped medical air or a cylinder is tied to the point where that supply comes out of the wall, and in a theatre that is rarely where the surgeon wants it. The AT4 generates its own, so there are no air hoses to run, no cylinder to check and change, and with the internal battery there is no power lead either. It is wheeled to the table, positioned where it suits the procedure, and used.

On the display, pre-selected pressure and actual cuff pressure are shown independently rather than as a single figure. That distinction is the whole safety argument for an electronic tourniquet. A dial that shows only the setting tells the user what was asked for; showing the measured cuff pressure alongside it tells them what the limb is actually receiving, which is how a slow leak, a poorly seated cuff or a kinked line is caught while there is still time to deal with it. Automatic timers with a user defined elapsed time alarm cover the other half of the problem, because tourniquet time is a hard clinical limit and not something to be tracked by memory on a long list.

Dual channel operation, colour coded between the two, suits bilateral limb surgery and intravenous regional anaesthesia. The AT4 carries procedural guidance for Bier's block built into the unit, which matters because that is the application where a tourniquet failure is not merely inconvenient: a cuff that deflates early releases local anaesthetic into the circulation. Self diagnostic checks run at start up and during use, with audible and visual warnings for battery state, leaks and calibration status. Supplied pre-owned.

Features

  • Integral air supply, so no air hoses, no medical air cylinder and no piped supply to connect.
  • Internal rechargeable battery, so the unit runs without being tethered to a socket.
  • Pre-selected and actual cuff pressure shown independently, so what the limb receives is visible alongside what was asked for.
  • Pressure from 0 to 600 mmHg to plus or minus 2.5 mmHg.
  • Bright OLED displays.
  • Automatic timers with a user defined elapsed time alarm, for the hard limit on tourniquet time.
  • Audible and visual warnings for battery state, leaks and calibration status.
  • Self diagnostic checks at start up and during use.
  • Dual channel, colour coded, for bilateral limb surgery and intravenous regional anaesthesia.
  • Procedural guidance for Bier's block built into the unit.
  • Takes quick-release cuff hosing at 1.75 m with acetal thumb latch connectors.
  • Mobile on 65 mm castors, with cuff hooks and storage for cuffs and cables.
  • Class 1 electrical safety with IP41 ingress protection.

Points to note before ordering

  • Calibration is what makes the accuracy figure mean anything. Anetic Aid specify annual servicing, and a stated accuracy of plus or minus 2.5 mmHg describes a calibrated unit. On a surgical tourniquet the delivered pressure is the safety parameter, so this unit is not put into theatre use until it has been serviced and calibrated by a competent engineer. Elarix Medical supplies it electrically safety tested and function checked, states any service history that accompanies it, and arranges or quotes calibration separately.
  • Supplied as the unit only, with no accessories at all. No cuffs, no cuff hoses and no connectors are part of this sale, so the hose set and a cuff range are needed before the system can be used on a patient. Cuff width and length are matched to the limb, and an undersized cuff requires a higher pressure to occlude, which is the route to nerve and soft tissue injury. Elarix Medical quotes hoses, cuffs, liners and bandages alongside so the full cost is known at the outset rather than discovered afterwards.
  • Electronic, not pneumatic. The AT4 was built in both electronic and pneumatic forms and the specification here is the electronic system, product code 40080. Elarix Medical confirms from the unit which build this is before dispatch.
  • Battery condition on a pre-owned unit. The internal rechargeable pack is the wear part, and a tourniquet that loses power mid procedure is the fault that matters most. Elarix Medical states the battery type and condition in writing, confirms it charges and holds, and quotes a fresh pack where the fitted one has aged.
  • Pre-owned condition. Marks to the trolley and case consistent with theatre use. Hoses, connectors, castors, displays and alarm function are checked and their state stated in writing, and Elarix Medical photographs the actual unit on request. Decontamination to local policy before use.
