Stryker 6550 Power-PRO TL Electric Ambulance Stretcher, Pre-Owned, with Compatible Battery, Charger, Mattress and Restraint Straps

The Stryker 6550 Power-PRO TL is an electrically operated ambulance stretcher built to take the manual lift out of patient loading and unloading. Battery driven hydraulics raise and lower the litter under control, which removes the repeated heavy lifting that drives cumulative back injury in ambulance crews. Rated capacity is 318 kg. Retractable head and foot sections shorten the cot for storage and confined spaces, the pneumatic backrest adjusts across a 0 to 73 degree range, and foot end controls keep operation within reach during a transfer. This unit is pre-owned and is supplied with a compatible battery, a compatible charger, a mattress and restraint straps.

Mandatory before any use with a patient

  • This stretcher is lifting equipment used to lift persons. In Great Britain it falls under LOLER 1998 and requires a thorough examination by a competent person at least every six months, with a current report of thorough examination held before the equipment enters service.
  • A qualified service engineer must inspect, function test and load test the unit before it carries a patient, covering the hydraulic lift, the manual override, the wheel locks, the side rails, the backrest cylinder and the retractable head and foot sections.
  • Operators must be trained on this cot and on the fastening system fitted to the vehicle before use on the road.
  • The 318 kg rating applies to the stretcher in serviceable condition. Any lower limit set by the vehicle fastener, the loading system or the crew's safe system of work takes precedence.
  • Inspect the restraint straps and mattress cover before service. Webbing that is frayed, a buckle that does not latch cleanly, or a cover with rips or tears should be renewed before the cot is used.

Compatible battery and charger, not original manufacturer parts

The battery and charger supplied with this unit are third party compatible items rather than original parts. They are pre-owned, so usable capacity and the number of lift cycles available from a full charge cannot be stated and must be assessed by the commissioning engineer. Where a service pattern depends on guaranteed runtime, an original battery should be fitted and a second pack held on rotation. Charge only with a charger rated for the battery in use, and do not mix charging hardware across different battery types.

Key features

Battery powered hydraulic lift raising and lowering the litter under control, so the crew guides the load rather than lifting it.
318 kg maximum weight capacity and the same figure for maximum unassisted lift, within the limits of the vehicle and fastening system.
Pneumatic backrest adjusting from flat through to seated across a 0 to 73 degree range.
Retractable head and foot sections shortening the cot to 139.7 cm for corridors, lifts and loading, extending to 194.3 cm for transport.
Foot end controls placing operation where the crew stands during loading and unloading.
Class II double insulated electrical construction on the powered system.
58.4 cm width, a standard cot footprint for ambulance saloons and hospital corridors.
Mattress and restraint straps supplied, so the cot arrives with the patient surface and restraint set rather than as a bare frame.
Established parts and accessory ecosystem across the Power-PRO platform, which keeps a used cot serviceable in a mixed fleet.

Delivery and access

  • This is a large, heavy item measuring 194.3 cm in overall length. Measure every access point on the route, including doorways, corridor turns, lift dimensions and loading bay height, before ordering.
  • Dimensions given are approximate and should be treated as a guide for access planning rather than an exact figure.
  • Delivery is to ground floor only, kerbside or first accessible doorway. Two people should be available to receive and move the item.
  • Return shipping is at the buyer's expense and any delivery fee paid is non-refundable.

Routine care guidance

Component Action Interval
Battery Check charge state, return to charge after use, inspect contacts for corrosion Every shift
Wheel locks and castors Check locks hold, clear debris and thread from the castor spindles Every shift
Restraints Check webbing for fraying and confirm every buckle latches and releases cleanly Every shift
Lift and backrest Cycle through full travel, confirm the backrest cylinder holds and the manual override operates Weekly
Mattress Decontaminate per local policy, inspect the cover for rips and seam failure After each patient
Frame and fixings Inspect for cracks, deformation, loose fasteners and hydraulic leaks Monthly
Thorough examination Formal examination by a competent person under LOLER 1998 At least every six months

The above is general guidance. The manufacturer instructions for use and the operating service's own decontamination and maintenance policy take precedence. Any unit showing a fault should be taken out of service until it has been repaired and re-tested.
