Anetic Aid Lithotomy Stirrups on Mobile Stand, Pre-owned

A pair of Anetic Aid lithotomy stirrups supplied with their mobile stand. Stirrups of this kind hold the legs in lithotomy or in the low lithotomy positions used for gynaecology, urology, colorectal and perineal work. Each upright clamps to the side rail of the operating table or trolley, carries a padded boot that takes the foot and lower leg, and articulates so the leg can be set for abduction, flexion and height independently of the other side.

The boot is where the clinical value sits. A padded boot distributes the load along the calf and foot rather than concentrating it behind the knee, which is what matters over a long case: the recognised risks of prolonged lithotomy are common peroneal nerve injury at the fibular head and compartment syndrome in the calf, and both are influenced by how the leg is supported and how long it is held up. Boots with a lift assist mechanism carry the weight of the leg on a gas spring, so one person can raise and lower a leg to position without taking the full load by hand.

Anetic Aid carry lithotomy stirrups within their operating table accessory range, and the range spans capacities from around 159 kg on the standard build to 327 kg on the heavy duty build, with an intermediate model adding a knee support and a squeeze grip handle. Those are three different products at three different prices, so the model and the maximum patient weight of this pair are confirmed in writing before dispatch rather than stated from the badge alone.

Stirrups are bought pre-owned more often than most theatre equipment, because the uprights are machined steel that outlasts several table generations while the pads and the gas springs are the parts that wear. Elarix Medical confirms the model, the maximum patient weight, the clamp type, the presence and condition of both boot pads and whether each boot holds position under load, all in writing before dispatch.

Features

  • Pair of articulating lithotomy stirrups, each adjustable for abduction, flexion and height independently of the other side.
  • Padded boots taking the foot and lower leg, spreading load along the calf rather than concentrating it behind the knee.
  • Side rail clamp mounting, so the stirrups transfer between tables and trolleys fitted with a matching rail.
  • Mobile stand supplied, so the pair is moved and stored together between cases rather than left on the table.
  • Machined steel uprights, the part of a stirrup that outlasts several table generations.
  • Suited to gynaecology, urology, colorectal and perineal work in lithotomy and low lithotomy positions.
  • Model, maximum patient weight and clamp type confirmed in writing before dispatch.

Points to note before ordering

  • Model and patient weight limit. Lithotomy stirrups in this range are built to different capacities, from around 159 kg to 327 kg depending on model. Elarix Medical confirms the model and the maximum patient weight of this pair in writing before dispatch. Do not assume the higher figure.
  • Clamp type decides what it fits. The clamp has to match the side rail profile on the table or trolley. Send the make and model of the table and Elarix Medical will confirm the fit before dispatch.
  • Boot pads and lift mechanism. The pads and, where fitted, the gas spring are the wear items on used stirrups. Elarix Medical confirms both pads are present and that each boot holds position under load, and will state it plainly if one does not.
  • Positioning is a clinical responsibility. Prolonged lithotomy carries recognised risks of common peroneal nerve injury and lower limb compartment syndrome. Positioning, padding and time in position remain matters for the surgical and anaesthetic team.
  • Pre-owned condition. Marks to the uprights and the stand consistent with theatre use. To be decontaminated to local policy and inspected by a competent person before clinical use. Elarix Medical will photograph the actual pair on request.
