Resmed AirSense 11 ELITE CPAP Machine (Less than 200 hours)
ResMed AirSense 11 Elite CPAP Machine with Integrated Humidifier, Pre-Owned
The ResMed AirSense 11 Elite is a fixed pressure CPAP device for obstructive sleep apnoea. It holds one prescribed pressure through the night rather than adjusting breath by breath, and pairs a colour touchscreen with integrated heated humidification in a single bedside unit.
This one is pre-owned and supplied with the HumidAir 11 humidifier, travel bag, 65 W power supply and a new air tube. A mask, water chamber, filters and heated tubing are bought separately, and the prescribed pressure is set by the clinical service looking after the wearer.

Checked before dispatch
- Powered on and run, with pressure delivery, blower and humidifier heating observed.
- Touchscreen, menu navigation and comfort settings checked.
- Air path, inlet and outlet inspected, and the exterior cleaned and disinfected.
- A new air tube is supplied, so no tubing passes from a previous wearer.
These are in-house workshop checks. Damaged or non-working items are not dispatched. A full engineer service and calibration is not included unless this listing states the unit has been serviced. Fitting fresh consumables and setting the prescribed pressure remain with the wearer and the clinical service looking after them.
Pressure is set by the prescribing clinical service
- The therapy pressure follows a sleep study or clinical assessment and is entered by the responsible clinical service.
- Settings are never carried over from a previous wearer. Any pressure held in the device from earlier use is confirmed or changed before the device is used.
- Fresh consumables are fitted before first use, including a water chamber, an air filter and a mask.
Fixed pressure or auto-adjusting, and which one this is
The Elite is the fixed pressure member of the AirSense 11 family. It delivers the pressure written on the prescription and holds it, night after night, without hunting up and down in response to the airway. That is the right behaviour for a large share of people on CPAP: the titration study found a pressure that keeps the airway open in every sleep stage and every position, and holding it steady is simpler, quieter in behaviour and easier to interpret from the therapy data. It is also the reason the Elite exists alongside the AutoSet, which adjusts continuously and costs more.
The trade-off is the flip side of the same fact. A fixed device cannot respond to a night that differs from the titration night, so nasal congestion, a heavy meal, alcohol or sleeping on the back rather than the side all meet the same pressure whether or not it is enough. Where a prescription reads as a range rather than a single figure, or where the pressure requirement is known to swing, an auto-adjusting device is the better instrument. Anyone unsure which they have been prescribed can read it from their letter or ask the sleep service before buying, because a fixed device set to the wrong number is worse than no device.
Two points specific to a pre-owned unit are worth stating plainly. The air path is cleaned and a new tube is supplied, but the water chamber, filter and mask are consumables that are fitted fresh by the incoming wearer rather than inherited, which is why they sit in the not-included table rather than being bundled in. And the humidifier here is the heated unit built into the device, not the tub that holds the water, so the tub is bought before humidification can run. Without it the device still delivers therapy, simply with unhumidified air.
